Athletics Master Coach Dan Pfaff On The Art of Individualty
Track & field, explosive sprinting; jumps; master coaching
It’s a great pleasure to have master coach Dan Pfaff back on the show. He’s one of the very most accomplished coaches in track and field, having worked with over 49 Olympians, including nine medallists, most recently helping Britain’s long jumper Greg Rutherford win a gold medal in London. The Canadian 100-meter champion Donovan Bailey was also one of his athletes.
Among Coach Pfaff’s many others achievements: he has tutored five world record holders. He’s also served on the coaching staff at five Olympic Games for five different countries and nine World Championship staffs for six different countries.
Coach Pfaff also provides consultancy to players and teams in professional football, baseball, hockey, golf, tennis, soccer and to the Canadian Winter Olympic Program.
He is currently Education Director and Lead Jumps Coach at the World Athletics Center in Phoenix, Arizona. Now here’s something I learned on World Athletics Center website: Coach Pfaff been married to the same woman for 42 years, which is exactly twice as long as I have been married. Hats off to him!
